Critical Gaps and Positionality

[T]here exist critical map gaps. One is the absence of a humanistic critical cartography, a map that is steeped in a place or a people. But, for these more situated maps to be critical, they also need to be reflexive of the cartographer’s own social position and assumptions about the map viewer.
